Be Yosef with Appalachian State Mountaineers Belts
What’s Your Loyalty IQ?
For the Southern Conference or SoCon, an Apps fan has all the reason to stand proud. The Appalachian State Mountaineers is the only university in N. Carolina to nab an NCAA national football championship in three consecutive years - 2005, 2006, and 2007. No wonder the mountaineers fans in this side of Carolina are girding for action.
As the Apps fans are prepping up with the trendiest Appalachian State Mountaineers belts, the Eagles diehards are getting their own Boston College Eagles belts, the Tides fans are scouring the Internet for many an Alabama Crimson Tide wallet, the Horns fans are snapping up the best of the Texas Longhorn wallet, and Arkansans are grabbing many an Arkansas Razorbacks wallet available.
There are many ways to show your loyalty on game and non-game days. On game days, be there to cheer them on and wave your pennants high. Memorizing all the Mountaineers fight songs is one thing, and supporting the teams in victory and defeat is another.
Your presence in all Apps games may be impossible, but following up on the different team performances is possible through your special network. Loyalty is not only showing preference for the football or baseball team, it’s supporting all the teams if you have the stash for all tickets.
Behaving at the Games
In the SoCon, the following states are competing - Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee. The SoCon is the oldest major athletic conference in the US with it’s formation in February 25, 1921.
So what is the score for the Apps this year? Will it be another jaw-dropping upset? Will the defense or offense be played with equal and aggressive intensity? Will the team be able to confront the same zealous aggression from their opponents? Well, they say you cannot win all, but Apps fans can dream, can’t they?
At the games, Apps fans cannot stay calm, especially when the teams are against top seeds, be it football, baseball, or basketball. Everybody breaks into sweat when the championship is just a score away. But how’s your body language at the bleachers?
Your body language at the bleachers shows, whether you’re showing off your collegiate belt or wallet, or booing the enemy speak volumes of your Apps fanaticism and the fervor of your "hatred" for all opposing teams. When the games swing into a favorable momentum for your team, yell or prance around. The best thing you can do is be yourself at the championship games.
Here are the tips to give enhance your loyalty:
* Get a ticket to the SoCon and present a valid excuse to the boss; he won’t be able to connect this yet with the SoCon.
* If you’re at the games, wear all your Apps blings from head to foot. Wave your pennants high to intimidate the fans at the other side.
* If you couldn’t get away, send off your team when they’re leaving for the SoCon. They may be bone tired or sleepy, but knowing that fans like you go through all the trouble to lift their spirits perks them up.
* Hook your TV to a satellite dish so you can enjoy the play-offs with like-minded friends while sipping beer and gorging yourselves on barbecue. Stock up on the beer as this may be drank to celebrate or to drown all your sorrows.
* If you’re watching the game at home, be sure you have the remote under close guard. You can’t waste time hunting and fighting over the remote.
If you’re at the games:
* Get the best seats.
* Be ready with all the old and new fight songs.
* Wear your colors proudly.
* Wave your banners high.
* Let your conchos show.
* Avoid looking at the opposing fans in the eye when your team makes a homerun.
* Ask Yosef for an autograph, but have your pen ready.
* Bring the power-lens binoculars if you couldn’t grab the choice seats.
* Be ready with confetti.
* Don’t forget to bring your recording gizmos if you can take these along.
If you’re a tailgate party practitioner, don’t scrimp on your menu. Win or lose, it is always nice to have something sumptuous to look forward to. Well, you may have friends on the other side; it would be a nice time to reconnect and have post game fun.
No use ranting and raving when losing or doing somersaults when your team wins. There is always a new challenge to pick up next year. Just be yourself and score high in the friendship department.
